What is a Softphone?

A softphone is a software program for making telephone calls over the Internet using a general purpose computer, rather than using dedicated hardware.

A softphone can be used to make PC to PC calls, since our dialer is hosted over the internet, you can use a softphone to make a PC to PC call to the Hosted Dialer server. You just need to configure your softphone by placing your log in credentials and the server address of your Predictive Dialer account into the softphone settings.

Once your settings are in place, you can talk to your leads over the internet with your softphone.

At the same time, you need to be logged into your account using the Predictive Dialer web portal, so you can begin the campaign, make notes on the call, disposition the call and more.

This means that you do not have to have a phone at all to use the Predictive Dialer.

There are two kinds of softphones that we recommend using with our Predictive Dialer and they are both free.

X-Lite is the preferred softphone and can be downloaded here for your PC or for your Mac.

Zoiper is the other option that we recommend, you can download it here for your PC or for your Mac.
